Job Description:
A company is looking for a Coder 1 to assign codes to diagnoses
and procedures in accordance with coding guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
Assign codes to diagnoses and procedures using ICD and CPT
codes
Ensure accuracy and proper sequencing of codes according to
regulations
Communicate with medical staff for clarification on
documentation
Required Qualifications and Education:
Coding certification with AHIMA and/or AAPC required
Two-year degree in Health Information Management or related field
preferred
One or more years of hospital inpatient coding experience
preferred
Certification with AHIMA is preferred, but AAPC will be
acknowledged
